AW Ship Management have been advised by MOL South Africa that the vessel “Maersk Lanco” has been delayed on her voyage from the UK and will now not call at Cape Town on the 10th February as planned. The ship will call at Cape Town on her return voyage on the 25th February instead. This vessel is carrying 25 containers ex-UK which are due to be shipped from Cape Town to St Helena on Voyage 01 of the MV Helena which was due to leave Cape Town on the 21st February. Of these 25 containers, 15 are carrying provisions and therefore cannot be delayed to Voyage 02.
As a result, and following consultations and agreement from St Helena Government, the decision has been taken to delay the departure of Voyage 01 from Cape Town until the 27th February in order to ensure that this ex-UK cargo reaches the Island. We apologise for the delay to the commencement of the service, however the root cause is outside of our control. The new schedule for Voyage 01 will be as follows:
ETD Cape Town 27th February
ETA St Helena 6th March
ETD St Helena 9th March
ETA Cape Town 15th March
Be advised that this schedule is subject to change, depending on the final arrival time of the “Maersk Lanco” in Cape Town.
